It’s not just a sweet, sweet fantasy. Mariah Carey is back in Vegas, baby!
As an OG “Lamb” (what Mariah endearingly calls her die-hard fans – IYKYK), I was there to experience her debut show back in Sin City, celebrating the success of The Emancipation of Mimi album and showcasing Mariah’s enduring impact on the music scene.
Imagine a night in Vegas when Mariah Carey, THE illustrious diva, musical icon, and Elusive Chanteuse (2014 album title) serenades with profound vocal performances. Hitting the high notes with the curly-hair days’ classics, then belting out numerous tracks from the award-winning Butterfly album, leading to performances from The Emancipation of Mimi.
This new residency is not just a series of encore performances in Las Vegas. In my Mariah voice, “That’s a no-no” (song from her 2018 Caution album). Instead, it’s a festive tribute to her landmark album, The Emancipation of Mimi, which is why I’m breaking down why you should see the show… And with eight new shows added, why I’m also considering going again!
Mariah Carey’s previous Vegas residencies
Mariah Carey first graced the Las Vegas scene with #1 to Infinity, a two-year residency that showcased her unparalleled vocal range through all 18 of her #1 Billboard chart-topping hits at that time (the Queen of Billboard currently holds a record 19 number ones). She performed that residency at The Coliseum at Caesars Palace.
This was followed by The Butterfly Returns, another two-year residency at Caesars, further solidifying her status as a pop star powerhouse.

In 2024, Mariah Carey’s touring is one of those “only in Vegas” commodities. Her 2024 residency at Park MGM’s Dolby Live theatre still draws fans from around the globe, proving Mimi’s lasting impact in the music business. Her previous residencies didn’t just celebrate her Billboard Hot 100 successes. They’ve been integral in redefining live performances in the city known for its glittering residencies.

For Mariah Carey’s 2024 Las Vegas residency, The Celebration of Mimi, fans are advised to act fast, with prices made affordable for every fan and Lamb’s pocketbook – starting at just $65! A small price to pay to experience one of the greatest vocalists of a lifetime.
Those eyeing VIP packages should be prepared to shell out between $280 and $750.
How long is Mariah Carey’s residency in Vegas?
Adding excitement, Mariah unveiled that she will grace the stage for eight additional shows, stretching the chance for more of us to witness her live performances!

The Celebration of Mimi setlist is an OG fan’s dream!
Finally, a Mariah Carey concert for “The Real Ones,” the OG Lambs, like me! Of course, the greatest hits from each album make the setlist, but also the cherished deep cuts—the ones only “The Real Ones” would know word for word!
Interspersed with bonus album tracks of her captivating hip-hop remixes like the sultry So Lonely (One & Only Part II) with rapper Twista and Makin’ It Last All Night (What It Do), the dope beat-worthy remix with Jermaine Dupri. An all-male dance crew will perform to the music, making the show an unforgettable experience. It promises to merge nostalgia, festivities, and spectacle, cementing Mariah’s status further among music legends!

I was there! And overall, The Celebration of Mimi exceeded my expectations!
Now, don’t go there thinking you’ll get Adele or Bruno Mars Vegas on-stage productions, like actually setting fire to the rain or an Uptown Funk finale with fire. Mariah is known for her beauty and her breathtaking vocals. Both you’re guaranteed to receive!
Mimi can still hit those elusive high notes, which has garnered a legion of worldwide fans. I cried in amazement and sheer joy when she went all E7 vocals singing Emotions at the show!
Her previous stints in Las Vegas (which I was also there for) have become legendary, showcasing her as one of the quintessential music icons. So, a residency by Mariah Carey in Vegas isn’t just a series of live performances. Instead, it’s an event that promises to blend her rich music career with the glitz and glamour synonymous with Las Vegas shows.
The Celebration of Mimi celebrates a legendary album, The Emancipation of Mimi, that defined an era. The excitement around Mariah Carey’s name lighting up Vegas in 2024 has fans and the entertainment industry buzzing. Once again, her performance undoubtedly solidifies why many of us are “Lambily for life!” – It’s like that, y’all!
